Beasley & Henley Completes 2 Town Homes for Mattamy Winter Park, FL, November 26, 2011 — Award-winning Beasley & Henley Interior Design has completed the interior detailing and merchandising for two new Mattamy Homes townhouse models, located at The Reserve at Loch Lake (off Lake Mary Blvd and Sterling Pine Road).

The Beasley & Henley Interior Design models reflect the community’s appeal to professionals and modern families.

The interior design of the The “Capri” reflects a young, vibrant home with an easy, inviting style. It features tiled floors, espresso cabinets, silestone countertops and white subway tiles among other details. Its trendy outlook is captured in its color palette of soft greys, ivory, and sunflower. The rooms are modern and comfortable, showing the best uses of Mattamy’s well-laid out floor plan.

The “Venice” model is designed for a young professional couple, but its transitional style will appeal to many buyers. The background colors are earthy neutrals, creams, and vibrant greens. Tiled floors, granite counters, a built-in desk, and a spa-like master bath all contribute to this home’s comfort and style. Clean-lined upholstery pieces mix with more rustic wood accents to provide a great mix of old and new — a signature mark of Beasley & Henley.

The town homes at Loch Lake range in size from 1,500 to 1,800 square feet and are priced from the mid $100’s. The model by Beasley & Henley Interior Design for Mattamy Homes are open to the public.

Parisian Style in New York City

Charlotte Macaux Perelman brings Parisian flair to a New York penthouse. Funny that a firm founded by a Frenchwoman has completed a penthouse loft so quintessentially New York. Straight lines and long, linear spaces could feel stark, but the rustic textures and furniture arrangements add interest. What a beautiful design concept.

Modern Sonoma Home

In this lovely home in Sonoma, California, a mosaic fireplace and modern fixtures brings the warmth of the natural Sonoma landscape indoors to create a sophisticated and inviting living space. There are bold partitions that nonetheless feel timeless, to create a modern living space — a well-executed design concept.

Can’t Get Enough Google Office Designs

Thanks to corporate behemoths like Google and Pixar that have demonstrated exceptional success, more people are embracing the idea that a creative work environment helps stimulate minds and inspire innovation. From simply ditching the crisp white walls for graphical wallpapers to a total overhaul of the office layout, we are all trying to break the mold and introduce a unique working environment, and hopefully inspire some genius ideas along the way.

Some pics of the Zurich, Switzerland Google offices are below. So playful and stimulating! Always a fun place to look.

Wood in All of Its Glory

Wood is both universal and unique. No other material is as deeply embedded in the history, culture and life of humans worldwide as wood, yet every single piece of wood is unique.

The color tone, texture, durability, flexibility and even sound qualities of different tree species have puzzled and challenged artists, architects, designers, builders and artisans for thousands of years. The color tone, texture, durability, flexibility and even sound qualities of different tree species have puzzled and challenged artists, architects, designers, builders and artisans for thousands of years.

Nothing matches wood in versatility or beauty, so it is great to see how today’s designers and architects continue to face the challenge of wood, and use it creatively to interpret sleek, modern designs. They use wood to meet their current needs and desires for which wood is ideally suited. People seek calm surroundings, simplicity and minimalism to soothe their frayed nerves and to counter the constant visual overload they face. Wood’s warmth and natural beauty works wonders for creating a sense of balance and calm.

People also look for sustainable alternatives, eco-friendly options, greener solutions. When harvested, managed and used sustainably, forests are still the source of the greatest material on earth.
