House in the Netherlands 2 House in the Netherlands: Modern with a Hint of TraditionalArchitects from Arjen Reas had to come up with a modern cubistic shape that would be perfect for a desolate landscape. Intriguing is the mix of materials like haystacks and white plaster. The rough texture of the haystacks in combination with the smooth white plaster creates a home that is very modern yet traditional at the same time. The compactness of the haystacks also gives optimal protection against the elements. The home also has  light at every corner: an open kitchen with access to the scullery, a bathroom,a wardrobe, a large living area and dining room make the first level, while the second level houses the main bedroom, the second bathroom and three other bedrooms. The basement functions as a garage and storage room. An amazing landscape opens from any angle of the house to give the inhabitants a relaxing feeling of home.
